Ferdinand Hippolyte LALAISSE (Nancy 1812 - Paris 1884) "Young man nude with bow and arrow" Original lithograph from a drawing by Lalaisse himself for the album entitled "Cours Spécial de Dessin" printed and published by the Monrocq Frères publishing house in Paris after 1860. Nice specimen slightly browned at the edges and with various areas of slight foxing as well as a small tear on the left side but overall in good general condition. Hippolyte Lalaisse, painter, draftsman and lithographer, was a pupil of Nicolas-Toussaint Charlet (1792-1845) and from 1839 to 1877 he taught drawing at the École Polytechnique in Paris, he is known in particular for military and horse subjects. Bibliography: Benezit "Dictionnaire des Peintres, Sculpteurs, Dessinateurs et Graveurs" Paris 1976 vol.6 page 392.
